Hello and welcome!

We're one of the country's oldest universities, and we've come a long way in our 90 years. The University of Hull is a vibrant institution – a blend of English tradition and cutting-edge technology.

96% of our graduates progress into work or further study within six months of completing their studies.

We nurture communities and we put our students (drawn from more than 100 countries) at the heart of everything we do.

Entry requirements

  • Undergraduate

We're currently confirming our 2018 undergraduate entry requirements and will publish them soon.

In the meantime, please get in touch by emailing global@hull.ac.uk or call +44 (0)1482 462190.

Don't quite meet the requirements? Don't worry - we review every application on an individual basis. Email global@hull.ac.uk to find out more. You may also be interested in our degree preparation course, ONCAMPUS.

  • Postgraduate Taught

The majority of our taught Masters programmes require that you hold a qualification equivalent to a lower second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.2). Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider a Bachelors degree awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in Thailand to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.

    Lower second-class (2.2) equivalent
    GPA 2.5 out of 4

    Upper second-class (2.1) equivalent
    GPA 3.0 out of 4

Don't quite meet the requirements? Don't worry - we review every application on an individual basis. Email global@hull.ac.uk.

  • Postgraduate Research

Check course listings for specific entry requirements. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Remember, we judge each application on an individual basis.

If your first language is not English, or you require a Tier 4 student visa to study, you will be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency level. Find out more.

"The fantastic facilities here at Hull (including the library and student support team) have played a major role in enabling me to produce a high standard of work. I have found my course fulfilling throughout, and feel that it has enhanced my knowledge in my subject area greatly.

"During my time here, I have also acted as a Marketing Management course representative – a role that has allowed me to work with a variety of people. In this capacity, I have attended many meetings to represent students, and I have seen how committed the University is to improving the student experience and meeting each student’s needs.

"Studying such a cutting edge course, taught by specialists in the subject area, has really given me confidence and satisfaction. In some of my modules, I have even had the chance to work on real professional projects, which has given me skills for my future career.

"Another great thing about Hull is the number of societies and events that students can take part in which focus on their areas of interest. I have had a wonderful time here!"

"Hull is a small and convenient city where local people are friendly and lovely. I have really enjoyed my time here during the four years of my study. The University of Hull is a compact and comfortable campus and easy to access from the city centre. I really love the Art café, in the Larkin building, which is one of many good coffee shops everywhere on campus.

"Due to the low cost of living, I can enjoy good accommodation and high quality food. There is a big Chinese supermarket where I can buy Oriental ingredients when I cook at home. Furthermore, I have been able to save money in order to explore some interesting places nearby, for example, Scarborough, Whitby, York, Leeds and Manchester.

"I have been really impressed by the support services available on campus. The study rooms for postgraduates are open 24 hours every day, the modern renovated library is fantastic and hi-tech and it has comfortable chairs with individually adjustable tables which are great for group meetings and for studying in style. The International Office is helpful and very kind, and has advisors specifically for international students who help with applying for a Tier 4 visa.

"As a Drama student, I have access to the theatre and studios where I can practise and learn about the stage, lighting and sound. I also use these excellent facilities to set the production of my work. I access the library for textbooks and digital articles in theatre, drama and dance.

"Furthermore, the tutorial system is very helpful, and I meet my supervisor every two weeks to discuss my work. Overall, studying at the University of Hull has helped me to develop my knowledge, and advanced my independent study and research skills."

“Living in Hull is a wonderful experience and every aspect of life in this city is influenced by different cultures. Hull is the UK City of Culture 2017, which means there will be an abundance of cultural events to help you feel part of this city.

“The Hull MBA has given me more than I ever imagined, and, in particular, the level of support from staff, lecturers and even my classmates has exceeded my expectations. In class, we share our ideas and experiences, which is something we can draw on in the future.

“In each subject, we’ve had guest speakers from leading international and local companies, such as Air Bus and Allam Marine. We visited their premises and even had one lesson taught by Dr Allam himself. These were wonderful opportunities that we wouldn’t have had if we hadn’t joined the Hull MBA.”
