Wireless Network
Where Can I Access the Wireless
Network
The Eduroam wireless network is accessible from ‘hot spots’ on both
the Hull and Scarborough campuses.
For a list of current hotspots, click here:
hotspots on campus.
How To Connect
In addition to the Eduroam network, you should
see an unsecured wireless network called
“UoH_Wireless_Setup”. Connect to this network and open your
web browser. You should be redirected to a setup page and
from here can follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted for your username, please ensure
that you enter your usual University user ID, followed by
@hull.ac.uk, for example 303030@hull.ac.uk.
Please click here for a full set of instructions.
Minimum Computer
Requirements
The minimum specification for a computer to be able to connect to
the wireless network is a PC with a CPU running at least 600mhz
Pentium III and 256mb RAM running Windows XP with Service
Pack 3 installed. Macintosh users will require a
Macintosh with OS X installed.
The equipment must have an 802.11b/g wireless
adapter installed or be able to accept a USB or PCMCIA
equivalent.
As stated in the University of
Hull Network Connection Regulations all users of the
wireless network have a responsibility to ensure that their
equipment is up to date with system updates and has anti-virus
software installed and that this anti-virus software is regularly
kept up to date.
Copies of the University’s McAfee anti-virus
are available from Brynmor Jones Library Reception Desk.
