Network drives

Your G: drive is the best place to store your personal University work. It is backed several times a day, meaning that it is possible to use a University PC to recover corrupt or accidentally deleted documents.

You will automatically have access to the G: drive when you login to any open access PC on campus. The documents below contain instructions on how to access your G: drive from your own computer in student houses and halls, over the wireless network and using a broadband connection when off campus. These documents also contain information on connecting to the M, U, X and Z drives.

Accessing network drives

I am:

• on campus, using a PC or Mac including the Eduroam wireless network, internet connection in University student accommodation (ResNet) or a wired connection on campus (including Scarborough campus).
• off campus, using a Windows computer over a broadband connection.
• off campus, using a Mac computer over a broadband connection.
