E-books
The library subscribes to various collections of e-books which
can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.
Collections include titles from leading academic publishers and
allow easy searching options. Search for content within individual
titles or across the whole of some of the collections.
Search for e-books via the library web
catalogue
Access individual titles via the library web catalogue by selecting
the Advanced Search option and selecting EBOOKS from the
material type drop-down button.
Searching the collections
Books@Ovid - Ovid delivers key medical,
nursing, and pharmacy texts from a variety of publishers through
the Books@Ovid database. Approximately 70 titles are currently
available on this platform via the publishers Lippincott Williams
& Wilkins and Wiley-Blackwell. Titles can be accessed 24/7,
either individually from the library catalogue or from this link
http://gateway.ovid.com/autologin.cgi (selecting
Books@Ovid and then performing a
search, or browsing all titles available under the Books tab).
Dawsonera - offers a range of individual ebook
titles in all subject areas from a wide range of publishers. Within
the library or via remote access 24/7 Library users can download or
read online any ebooks which have been purchased by the library. An
Athens password is required to access the items. Access the ebooks
by logging into the website http://www.dawsonera.com/ or via
the Library catalogue Advance search: use a keyword search and
choose ebooks as the material type.
Any Dawsonera title which has not been purchased by the library
can be viewed for 5 minutes. Please use the "Suggest a purchase"
scheme if you would like the library to consider purchasing an
ebook the library does not own.
Ebook Library (EBL) - allows the library
to puchase individual ebook titles and content in all subjects from
a wide range of prominent international publishers. Library users
can borrow titles simultaneously from within the library or via
remote access 24/7. An Athens password is required to access the
items both on and off campus. Access the titles by logging in
to the website http://www.hull.eblib.com/EBLWeb/patron/
Access is also available via the Library Catalogue (search for
EBL). Please note, only the items displaying a GREEN book
symbol have been purchased by the library for users to access.
MyiLibrary - offers a range of individual ebook
titles in all subjects from a wide range of publishers. Library
uses can download or read online ebooks from within the library or
via remote access 24/7. An Athens password is required to access

or via the Library catalogue Advanced search: use a keyword search
and choose ebooks as the material type.
PsycBOOKS (via EBSCO) - is a database of
books and chapters from the American Psychological
Association. It features approximately 600 books
including 120 classic books in psychology; and over 1,500 entries
from the APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology.
PsycBOOKS will be updated with new releases on a monthly
basis.

Taylor and Francis e-books collection – a
collection of 720 textbooks, reference books and research
monographs covering the subject areas of Business, Education,
Language and Literature. Access the full list of Taylor and Francis
e-books to which the library subscribes by logging on to the
website http://hull.etailer.dpsl.net/
An Athens password is required to read the Taylor and Francis
e-books both on and off campus. Further instructions about
