Athens and other passwords

Each resource has its own access routes which are determined by its provider and which are listed below.

ATHENS
Access is controlled by an ATHENS username and password.

Generic username and password
Access is controlled by a generic username and password.  A list of the electronic resources this applies to, and their usernames and passwords, can be found on the portal. Go to "Services & Support" and under "Quick Links" refer to the spreadsheet "Passwords for electronic resources not authenticated by Athens".  Alternatively ask at the Library Helpdesk at either campus, or request via the web.

IP on campus/ATHENS off- campus
No username/password needed on-campus. Off-campus access requires an ATHENS username and password.

IP on-campus/password off- campus
No username/password needed on-campus. Off-campus access requires an individual username and password, which can be found on the portal. Go to "Services & Support" and under "Quick Links" refer to the spreadsheet "Passwords for electronic resources not authenticated by Athens".  Alternatively ask at the Library Helpdesk at either campus, or request via the web.   

IP on campus/ Off campus access available via the University proxy server 
No username/password needed on-campus. Where off-campus is permitted access to certain eresources is available only via the proxy server.

IP address only
These resources can only be accessed on-campus. Off-campus access is not permitted.

Unrestricted
Free public site. No username or password required.
