Consultancy
In addition to helping with various individual projects, ICT
Learning has played a role in assisting a number of departments in
the development and delivery of ICT within their own undergraduate
modules and with postgraduate provision. If you are an academic
here at Hull perhaps we can assist you to do something similar?
Current Examples
As part of their first year all undergraduates in the Business
School take a core 'Academic and Professional Skills' module. This
long thin module contains a significant element of ICT skills
throughout incorporating a broad range of software aimed at
producing a professional approach to ICT use. As part of
the assessment strategy, students must demonstrate and
reflect on the ICT skills they have developed over the year.
Law requested an induction to ICT at Hull for their new
postgraduates.
Education asked for help introducing new students to
eBridge.
Foundation Science asked us to introduce effective use of
key software to their students.
Overseas students planning to undertake a Masters here at Hull
now have the opportunity to take a 60 credit "Higher Education
Studies Skills" certificate over the summer i.e. finishing just
before they take up a place here as a student. ICT Learning
provides one of the three modules offered in this programme.
If you have a project incorporating ICT and you would like
help with it e.g. design of module incorporating the assessment
of ICT skills, please contact Lynn Saville, ICT Learning
either via the email address l.c.saville@hull.ac.uk or on
ext 5477.

All of the 2009 cohort of international pre-masters students
passed the ICT module.
This summer, in a chance meeting with a student
from the 2008 cohort, I was very gratified that this very
happy and enthusiast Masters student was keen to tell me what an
impact the ICT module had made on her approach to her studies.
