Associate Institutions Network
This pre HE group of associate schools and colleges is a new
development for the University of Hull and its partners. It is
designed to recognise collaboration with a tripartite focus of
sixth form colleges/FE colleges and schools working jointly with
the University of Hull as Associate Institutions Advisory
Group.
Associate Institutions are identified as those sharing a joint
social responsibility in addressing the social and economic
challenges in the region through informing and facilitating
progression and student recruitment. A second focus for the
network will be through providing a forum and focus for
collaborative debate on pertinent educational policy and practice,
including the implications for teacher training and continuing
professional development.
Membership of the Associate Institutions Network is by
invitation and encompasses schools and colleges who work in
partnership with the University of Hull for a wide range of
purposes and at different levels of intensity.
Interaction for young people includes activities relating to
raising aspiration and awareness of learning opportunities at HE
level, direct recruitment activities, and bespoke activities
with cohorts of learners (see link to menu of activities).
For would-be teachers/teachers/tutors/educational managers,
there are opportunities from initial teacher training through to
continuous professional development in subject and practice, and
accredited programmes, such as Masters and PhDs (see link to
professional development opportunities).
There is also the opportunity to consider educational policy and
to provide a regional voice on consultations which affect learning
pre HE (see link to forum activities).
