Managing Parliament's Image
Welcome to the Managing Parliament’s Image project
website.

This research project aims to understand how
parliaments in Europe manage their corporate image, focusing on the
image portrayed on parliamentary websites. Specifically, it aims to
uncover the decision-making processes through which the scope and
content of parliamentary websites are determined and whether this
is integrated with a wider parliamentary strategy for managing its
image.
This is a two year comparative project focusing on five parliaments
in Europe - British, European, French, Portuguese and Scottish –
where we will undertake interviews with parliamentary actors who
are key in the respective decision-making processes. The interviews
will be informed by relevant official documents and a content
analysis of these parliaments’
websites.
This website contains background information
on the project and of other research into parliamentary reform and
administration, parliament and ICT and the relationship with
citizens. We hope to disseminate the primary research data and
papers as the project progresses.
The project was developed by Dr Cristina Leston-Bandeira, Senior
Lecturer in Legislative Studies at the University of Hull and is
supported by an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) grant
(RES-000-22-4072)..
