Admissions
Although we have a regular intake of well-qualified post-‘A’
Level students, the Department of Modern Languages at Hull welcomes
applications from mature students, international students and
students with qualifications other than ‘A’ Levels possibly subject
to interview with our Admissions Tutor, with other relevant Tutors
or Directors of Studies. As well as ensuring students have a good
grasp of foreign cultures we have a solid
track record of producing highly employable multi-skilled linguists
even from complete beginners level.
Applications for full-time study are processed through UCAS.com using the relevant course
codes. Our standard entry requirements are between 280 and
300 UCAS points. Applications for part-time study are made
directly to the Department. Explore our website to help you make a
decision about which course might suit you best and feel free to
attend one of our Open Days.
Alongside University Open
Days, the Department hosts its own events for those interested
in the study of modern foreign languages at all levels from
complete beginners through to full Honours degree. Our Open Days
offer you the chance to meet staff and students of the Department,
to get a more in-depth idea of what learning strategies and
subjects are on offer as part of the various study schemes
(including the year abroad). You will
also get the chance to see our outstanding learning resources
including our multi-media Language Learning
Centre, Melissi subtitling and interpreting facilities and the
university library.

Day dates for the next academic year (2012/13).
