The DML hosted a special exhibition of Natalia Bartoli
paintings inspired by Dante's Paradiso.

At the exhibition opening, artist Natalia
Bartoli presents Dr Marina Mozzon-McPherson, Head of DML, with
one of her beautiful paintings.
The Department of Modern Languages hosted an unusual event in
October. To celebrate 150 years of Italian Unity, the Department
and the Hull Dante Alighieri Society hosted a special exhibition of
Natalia Bartoli paintings inspired by Dante's Paradiso. The nine
canvases were on display in the conversation area of the Larkin
building over a three-day period. The event was linked on the first
day with a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning, offering cakes
made by staff and friends from English, German, Italian and Mexican
recipes. Thanks to the generosity of all, it raised £320 for the
charity.
