Upcoming Event: JOYN 2.0 Project Meeting and Teacher Training

The Department of Modern Languages is involved in an EU funded
project, which aims to promote language learning and teaching
through social networking sites. DML participants within the
project include Marina Mozzon-McPherson, Judy Jowers, Miranda van
Rossum, and Elaine Riordan.
As part of this project, a meeting will be held at the
University of Hull on Wednesday 23rd November with
project partners from several countries including Finland, Greece,
Ireland, Latvia and Lithuania.
Further to this, on Thursday 24th and Friday
25th November, a training event will be held for 15
teachers from the above countries. This event includes sessions on
Web 2.0 and language learning, language learning within social
networking sites, advising for language learning, and monitoring
and evaluating online learning, which will be facilitated by
members of the DML team.
