We are a multidisciplinary School
of Education & Social Sciences with a distinctive profile of

The multi-disciplinary nature of much of our work encourages
diversity and values different approaches to research. Here, you
will find a distinctive and lively research culture characterised
by intellectual curiosity and professionalism.
The School of Education &
Social Sciences attracts a healthy stream of externally supported
research funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the
Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Academy,
international organisations, central and local government and by
voluntary and charitable agencies.
Our teaching is informed by the
latest research and this is reflected in our National Student
Survey success, in which past students commented on the interesting
curricula and enthusiastic staff.
