University’s Anti-Slavery Day campaign wins PR Moments award

The University is pleased to announce that the recent #HiddenInPlainSight Anti-Slavery Day campaign, has won the ‘Best Use of Creativity’ award at the industry-recognised PR Moments Awards.
The campaign featured a consumer survey commissioned by the Wilberforce Institute, that examined the attitudes of 1,672 adults across the country, towards modern day slavery. The results were published to mark Anti-Slavery Day and to maximise exposure, seven human-sized boxes, displaying titles and descriptions of jobs where slavery is prevalent in the UK, were installed in high-footfall locations across Hull. The boxes included the hastag #HiddenInPlainSight, as well as calls to action for people to snap and share the visuals.
The campaign achieved 49 pieces of national and regional press coverage, as well as strong support on social media and as a result, 18 million people were reached.
