Studying at WISE Last updated on 7/12/2016 Print this page The University of Hull’s Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation (WISE) is an interdisciplinary centre for postgraduate study of historical and contemporary slavery, coerced labour, human rights and social justice. It offers a PhD program for students across these fields. WISE also has its own ever-expanding specialist library and archives. Although WISE does not directly offer undergraduate courses, undergraduates interested in historical and contemporary slavery will find models linked to WISE available on undergraduate courses through the Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education.
