Peter Draper has been a Registered Nurse since 1980 and obtained a degree in nursing through part-time study in 1986. He was awarded his PhD in 1994. Peter has worked at the University of Hull since 1990.

Peter is the academic lead for staff development in the Faculty of Health and Social Care. He facilitates the seminar programme, and has led a number of projects to develop the scholarship of learning and teaching in the faculty.


Peter is actively involved in teaching pre-registration, undergraduate students. He is responsible for organizing Masters Dissertations. He has successfully supervised numerous postgraduate research students to the successful conclusion of their studies.

Peter’s achievements in learning and teaching were recognized in 2013 by the award of a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship.
