Spaces

With one of the most distinctive and diverse meeting facilities in the region, the business school has the capacity to meet the needs of your next meeting, conference or event.

The school is proud to host annual conferences, away days, annual general meetings and events for key industry bodies in both the private and public sector. Our dedicated IT and event management staff can work with you to ensure that you make the most of the resources available to you and can support your event before, during and after the occasion.

Allam Lecture TheatreAllam lecture theatre

Our 500-seat lecture theatre is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, allowing you to get your event up-and-running as soon as you arrive. We can also offer a wide range of smaller lecture theatres and meeting spaces to suit the size and purpose of your meeting, fully equipped with the latest technology.

Derwent Cafederwent cafe

The Derwent cafe is a stunning space, incorporating Grade I and II listed features, painstakingly restored to their former glory. This area is the hub of the school, where students, staff and guests meet for a working lunch or a well-earned break. This flexible space makes the perfect location for lunch or a drinks reception, informal meetings or a break-out space.

Mezzanine FloorNIDD

Our Mezzanine floor, located in the Nidd building, is also a striking location for an informal meeting or break-out session for events based in this building.

Seminar Roomsmeeting room

We have a number of rooms available for hire in the Nidd building ideal for meetings & conferences equipped with state of the art technologies and comfortable surroundings.

Management Learning Lab

Getting away from the office environment can help you to reconnect with your team or strengthen bonds with clients or partners.

Management learning labarotory Our stylish management learning laboratory is a suite of rooms designed with this purpose in mind.

Equipped with the very latest in business development software and technical resources to facilitate video conferencing and high-tech business simulations, it is also a space in which you can take the time to think and plan laterally and strategically.

Whatever the purpose of your meeting, we can help set an appropriate tone by selecting the right room or combination of rooms, tailoring arrangements for a more dynamic meeting.

The facility also offers wireless LAN throughout, Freeview TV, comfortable break out area, and small servery area with tea/coffee facilities.

The management learning lab has been used by Carmichael Training Ltd on a number of occasions during the past months and has had an immediate effect on the way our students learn and assimilate the training being delivered. Testimony to this is the increase in the pass rates on the programmes being delivered to the delegates.

Business Incubator Units

Small incubator unitWe have created affordable, flexible and high-quality business incubator spaces, ideal for start-up businesses in the logistics and supply chain sector.

The high-profile location of the school and University campus will give your new business increased visibility and credibility. Your colleagues, clients and guests will be welcomed into a space which enhances and reflects your professionalism and ambition.

We currently offer a number of incubator spaces, available in three sizes of approximately 10, 14 or 20 square metres. These are fully furnished and the range of benefits include

  • reception services during standard University office hours
  • maintained IT and telephone facilities
  • easy in/easy out terms
  • opportunities for knowledge transfer and networking
  • rates inclusive of utilities and all building maintenance and cleaning
  • use of logistics meeting rooms and technology showcase area by arrangement
  • discounted rate on use of development laboratories, rooms within the school and Logistics Institute events

Business Incubator Clients

Keyfort

Keyfort is a Network and Systems house based in Bournemouth with a northern office in Hull. Keyfort implement and manage cloud computing solutions; from virtualization of servers in the server room to the provision of secure networks within buildings, across campuses and over the Internet to sites worldwide. Keyfort also provides specific services, including Software as a Service (SaaS), to the logistics sector with a particular focus on the Hull and Southampton international gateways and their respective hinterlands. These services aim to ensure effective data flow leading to efficient freight movement, reducing transport and storage costs with commensurate CO2 emission reductions in the process.

Vertual Ltd

Vertual Ltd have designed a learning and skills training tool, VERT. This is a virtual environment of a radiotherapy treatment room which is used to train radiotherapy and radiography students and staff.
