About the Logistics Institute
Founded in 2005, the Logistics Institute is a
world-class centre of excellence
in global logistics and supply chain
management.
The Institute was established with £20
million in funding from Yorkshire Forward (a regional development
agency) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
This funding, which ended in December 2007, enabled us
to create the institute and provide logistics training,
support and consultancy.
Supported by our grant funding, the institute
assisted 530 businesses with their logistics and supply chain
issues. These businesses created over 160 new jobs and increased
sales by £55 million per year.
Now self sufficient, the institute is unique
in offering logistics degree courses,
research, business consultancy and training, and community engagement.
