New visiting professor for Business School

Claudia Nagel

Dr Claudia Nagel, a distinguished behavioural strategy academic, has been appointed Visiting Professor at Hull University Business School.

Dr Nagel is an expert in strategy and change processes. Her specialist consultancy approach, combining corporate strategy and psychoanalysis, has been the founding principle of her very successful management consulting firm, where she focuses on the development and application of Behavioural Science in practice.

During her visiting professorship, Dr Nagel will share her research with Business School academics and PhD students, giving them an insight into her unique studies.

About Dr Claudia Nagel

Dr Claudia Nagel obtained her MBA from the University of Cologne in 1991. In 1994 she received her PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Hagen, sponsored by Volkswagen AG. She is also a Chartered Psychoanalyst with a Post Graduate Diploma from ISAP, Zürich.

During the 1990s she taught as a lecturer at Hochschule Wismar, while at the same time leading the IWS Rostock (Institut für Wirtschafts- und Sozialethik). She currently teaches on the Master Program for Executives at Zeppelin University. She has also run her own consulting company since 2005, focusing on the development and application of Behavioral Strategy in practice. She was appointed as Visiting Professor at Hull University Business School in March 2016.

Over the past eight years, Dr Nagel has worked extensively on the development of the theory and practice of the emerging field of Behavioral Strategy. Due to her practical corporate finance background, her work and research are also closely tied into Behavioral Corporate Finance. She has lectured and discussed the subject in Europe and Asia and has also written a book on this new approach. She has also published several articles in the field of Behavioral Strategy in renowned journals and books.
