Partnerships and projects
The Faculty of Education is committed to enhancing its
teaching and research activity through a variety of partnerships
and projects.
Partnerships
The centre has an excellent record of working in partnership
with schools in the region to provide placement experience and
other support to trainee teachers. There are more than 70 schools
in our Secondary PGCE Partnership and 150 schools in our Primary
PGCE Partnership.
We also work with children’s workforce settings including
children’s centres, schools, hospitals, social work departments,
voluntary organisations and social care to provide placements for
students on our Children’s Inter-Professional Studies
programme.
Supporting continuing professional development is an important
element of the centre’s work in the region and we coordinate the
Humber Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Consortium, which
meets at least twice a year to share news on CPD activities and
plan events. It is made up of key staff from local authorities and
schools and colleges in the Humber region who are responsible for
CPD and schools workforce development.
The centre has a number of fruitful research partnerships with research groups
and agencies in the UK and abroad.

- The University of Hull is supporting the Teach First initiative.
Teach First is an independent charity launched in 2002 to bring
excellent teachers into secondary schools in challenging
circumstances across the UK. It is an intensive two-year programme
for graduates that combines initial teacher training with volunteer
coaching, networking opportunities and a bespoke leadership
development programme
