Bangladeshi student Faisal"The University of Hull has laid a solid foundation for me."

I started my University of Hull journey as a 2nd year direct entry student in the Department of Engineering. Although initially doubtful about the Hull experience, I was gladly proven wrong in my first week.  The relaxed ambience of this picturesque city and the amiable staff members made the University of Hull seem like home away from home. What seemed best to me was that you can talk with your lecturers as you would with your colleagues - asking questions was never a concern. The Engineering department has all of its lecture theatres and workshops in the same building, which makes it very convenient for students. Also, the newly refurbished Brynmor Jones Library has millions of books to cater for everyone’s needs and is regularly open 24 hours a day.

Hull is not just academic, but also fun. The International Office hosts a Culture Festival annually and organises several trips across the UK and Europe. There are also over a hundred societies and sports clubs to choose from and the city has a vibrant nightlife. The Careers Service is there to help you find jobs, and job adverts are updated on a regular basis on their website. Additionally, I was a student ambassador for two years and have worked for many events. These help you to gain valuable work experience as well as building your CV.

The University of Hull has laid a solid foundation for me and enhanced my enthusiasm. A world-class degree from this reputable university will definitely help me towards my future endeavours.
