Archives and manuscripts have been collected by the University since its establishment as Hull University College in 1928. There are now in excess of one million documents, ranging in date from the 11th century to the present day. The University of Hull Archives are held off campus at the Hull History Centre. Opened in 2010, this purpose-built facility also houses the City Archives and Local Studies Library. The Centre is open to staff, students and the public alike.
