SCONUL access allows you to obtain borrowing rights at other
higher education libraries in the UK and Ireland. The
online application form and full details of the scheme can be
found at http://www.sconul.ac.uk/
Under the SCONUL Access scheme all users are categorised into
three bands. For more information on the bands, see below.

(degrees awarded by thesis or viva)
- Band B Part time, distance learning and
placement students (on placement 6 weeks or more)
- Band C (Full-time only) Taught
Please note: full time undergraduates are
entitled to reference access only.

NB: Please note that SCONUL Access cards will take 24 hours to
SCONUL vacation access scheme
This scheme will enable you to use all libraries including those
which are not members of UK Libraries Plus during the vacations for
reference purposes only.
Undergraduates and postgraduates on taught courses are normally
granted reference use of other university libraries free of charge
during the vacations of the host university. If you request
admittance to another university library, you will normally be
asked to present proof of your current membership of the University
of Hull. A current student card will normally be acceptable.
Sometimes it may be necessary to show evidence of when your course
ends; you are recommended to check with the other library as
policies may differ. You are advised to telephone in advance of
your visit to make sure about vacation dates, opening times and
