Ferens Distinguished Lecture in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Liquid Crystals

Liquid Crystals: How a Hull Invention helped to change the way we see electronic information

Event presented by Professor Peter Raynes, FRS.

In his lecture, Professor Peter Raynes examines the background to the technology of liquid crystals, the Hull invention itself, and how it was developed into highly successful commercial products.

As the LCD market developed towards larger displays showing ever larger amounts of information, the technology diversified considerably, and the lecture will conclude with a glimpse of the UK's wider contribution to this development.

The lecture is free of charge; all are welcome.
