Theatre and Performance
The Theatre and Performance
programmes at Scarborough have an established reputation for
exploring some of the most exciting and important forms of theatre
practice in the 20th and 21st centuries. The programmes re-examine
the heritage of twentieth century theatre and focus particularly on
the ideas and practices of key practitioners in the field. From
this perspective, we debate the future of theatre, its new
directions, opportunities and possibilities.
Video clips of recent performances
and student testimonials can be found in our video gallery.

We welcome students who seek to engage with
these important connections and with the issues, ideas and energies
that make theatre and performance such an exciting, engaging field
in which to work. From within a supportive learning environment, in
which students are able to work effectively with ideas and new
approaches to making, performing and reflecting on theatre,
we work together to realise your potential.
As lecturers, we bring experience of academic
research, performance practice and the connections that exist
between practice and theory. We are critically engaged with
practice and analysis of contemporary theatre work and have
developed close relationships with many professional artists and
companies. We regularly invite guest artists to create work with
students and present masterclass workshops.
