Research

The School combines expertise from, Digital Arts, English, Theatre and Performance, Music Technology and Internet Computing. The School is based on the Scarborough Campus, in an environment which encourages the creativity that occurs when students and staff of varying backgrounds work together.

Research is a core activity of the school and the majority of the academic staff are fully involved through their own programme of research and the supervision of postgraduate research students.  Reach-out activity essentially cover activities that are undertaken to help develop the region, the UK and educational activities further a field.  For example, DTI funded Knowledge Transfer Programmes that assist in technology transfer to local industries, and validation of programmes run by colleges in the region.

Within the School research is pursued within the following research groups, namely:

• Digital Media Computing Research (DMCR)
• Hull ElectroAcoustic Research (HEAR)
• Theatre and Performance (T&P) 

The School collaborates with Computer Science, Music and Drama departments at Hull Campus.
