Medical Systems

The research into medical systems is concerned with the development of novel solutions for the planning and delivery of treatment as well as the training of the clinicians.  This applied research is underpinned by core computer science research in the areas of virtual environments and  image processing.

Impact

• The VERT project has been spun out into Vertual Ltd and developed into a product.  Immersive VERT is currently used by 10 universities and the Department of Health recently funded a rollout to over 40 sites in England.
