Applicant Days and Open Days
Visiting the campus at
Hull and meeting the people in the Department of Computer Science
really is the best way to find out what life is like here, and
whether this is a place where you would like to study.
Computer Science Applicant Days and University Open Days are
designed to provide you with information about all aspects of
student life at Hull.
Computer Science Applicant
Days
These are organised
specifically for students who have applied to study at Hull and
have been made an offer. They take place in February and March to
accommodate visits prior to the UCAS deadline for students making
their final decisions on where they will study. You will have the
chance to ask questions, and to meet our staff. Our current
students will act as guides to show you around the Department and
will be glad to answer questions about all aspects of student
life.
These events are also supported by the
Student Recruitment Service and include morning tours of
accommodation, information and advice stands and even a bus tour of
the city of Hull. Download a full Applicant Day
programme.
The Department of
Computer Science's 2011/2012 Applicant Days have now
finished however new dates for the academic year 2012/13 will be
posted here soon.
When you apply through UCAS for one
of our courses you will be sent an invitation to book on-line for
an Applicant Day once an offer has been made to you.
Disability Services
The online booking form asks
for some information regarding any disability needs for your visit
– this is so that if you have a disability we can ensure you have
an enjoyable day and also confidence that the University will be
able to cater for your needs whilst studying.
Please email us at dcs-ug@hull.ac.uk if you would
like to meet with the Department’s Disability Tutor when you attend
an Applicant Day. You may also find the University website
section on Disability
Services helpful.
Travelling to the University
Please see the
University’s travel pages which contain details of travel
routes, local transport and links to maps and campus plans.
Travel expenses
We appreciate that
visiting a number of universities can become quite costly.
For this reason, we will reimburse rail fare in mainland UK for
UCAS applicants to Department of Computer Science courses for
standard return rail fare to Hull using a 16-25
Railcard.
University Open Days
These are organised by
the University's Student Recruitment Service for students
considering applying to the University in the following year.
They take place in July and October. Further details are
available on the University of
Hull's web pages.
