Dr Rubini appears on Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections

Dr Phil Rubini, Head of the Department of Engineering, recently appeared on Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections Programme on BBC2.  Broadcast on 15th May 2011, the programme explored the surprising engineering connections behind the Formula 1 car.  The most glamorous and expensive sport on earth owes much to inspiration drawn from a revolutionary 19th-century cannon, ancient sailing boats, jet engine fan blades, body armour and also a technique practised by blacksmiths for thousands of years.
