Welcome to our Web site!
I am sure you will enjoy visiting the gardens which, as a
member, you are able to do on:
Monday to Thursday from 12.30pm - 3.30pm
Friday from 12.30pm to 3.00pm
(except on Bank Holidays and at other times when the University is
closed.)
Take a leisurely stroll in the tranquil surroundings; take in the
beauty of the many mature specimen trees; observe the changes as
the seasons progress; learn of the wildlife habitat, or simply sit
and enjoy the surroundings.
In the interest of Health and Safety, please remember to sign the
register as you enter and leave the gardens. The book is situated
in the entrance to the main greenhouses (green doors).
The Friends group also hold three meetings a year when members and
guests come along to hear knowledgeable speakers on topics of
horticultural interest. The details of these meetings will be
announced in the quarterly Newsletter. They are friendly informal
meetings where members are able to meet other members and have a
chat during the break when refreshments are provided.
The Friends also hold an annual Open Day, usually around the third
Sunday in May. This has been a resounding success with members and
the visiting public alike. Should you wish to assist with the
organisation of the open day, new helpers are always welcome.
Volunteer helpers have always ensured its success by helping with
the plant stall, refreshments or by growing/ providing plants for
sale on the day.
