Research
We’re renowned across the world for our research into human and
physical geography.
The 2008 RAE results showed 90% of our research was of
international quality and we received a grade five RAE rating in
2001. We also use research in our teaching to make sure it reflects
the latest thinking.
Our human geography research is divided into two areas:
- Environment and spaces of governance
- Knowledges, cultures and space
We separate our physical geography research into three
areas:
- Sediment and flow dynamics
- System response to environmental change
- Aquatic systems and resources
Who else do we work with?
The department has a number of organisations, centres and
networks that are involved in research:
