Marianne Elliott (Drama, 1989) Named Best Director

Marianne ElliottHull graduate Marianne Elliott, was named Best Director at the Olivier Awards for her work on the adaptation of Mark Haddon’s book “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” at a prestigious ceremony at the Royal Opera House on Sunday 28 April 2013

Speaking backstage after accepting her award, Elliott described the win as “extraordinary”. Marianne can add the Olivier statuette to the Tony Award she won for her co-direction of another National Theatre hit War Horse. Though she received an Olivier nomination for that production, this is her first Olivier Award win.

Marianne studied Drama at the University of Hull graduating in 1989.
