Matrix Success

The University of Hull Careers Service is one of the first to achieve matrix accreditation against the revised matrix standards.  Matrix is the UK quality standard for information, advice and guidance services.

Work with us

Students and graduates face what can be an overwhelming choice of careers and opportunities, and employers often ask us how they can raise their profile among the highly qualified student and graduate population so that students and graduates consider them in the choices they make. Here are some of the things you can do:

  • Advertise jobs and placements

Advertise your job and placement vacancies with us - FREE of charge. You can even upload the details directly. It's quick, free and easy.

  • Recruit an intern

The University of Hull Careers Service is happy to support local employers offering paid internships to graduates. Recent interns have identified cost savings, and undertaken specific projects. We offer free vacancy advertising, a broad pool of graduate talent and support towards tailoring an internship. Internships are usually 6-12 weeks long.  Contact Kristian Rumble to discuss further. • Take a stand at a Careers Fair

Our annual Graduate Recruitment Fair will take place on Thursday 25 October 2012 - please email g.kilvington@hull.ac.uk for further details.
  • Speak directly to individuals, source talent and raise your profile amongst the student and graduate population. You can also gauge response to recruitment campaigns and literature, and gain an insight into the pre-occupations of the student and graduate population. We hold a number of fairs each year, and would be happy to advise you on the most appropriate for your needs.  In all, thousands of students and graduates attend these events, so it is a very cost effective way of raising your profile on campus.

As there is limited availability of stands, please contact us well in advance.

  • Give a presentation or arrange a drop-in

We can advise you as to the optimum time of year and time of day. We can organise the venue and publicise the event for you. Employers and employer organisations have arranged drop-ins and practice interviews for individual students and graduates, as well as group activities, such as business games or practice assessment centres.
  • Feature on our website

Provide an article about your organisation and the work you do. Send us a feature about your graduate opportunities, and what your graduates do. Provide a case study of a University of Hull graduate who has been working at your organisation. Video and audio clips are most welcome. Contact Julia Goodall for more information - j.c.goodall@hull.ac.uk
  • Sponsor an event

Sponsor an event  or a publication to raise your profile amongst the student and graduate population.  Contact us to ask about our rates.
  • Interview on campus

We have modern, spacious rooms available to use for interviewing.
  • Become a Mentor

Consider providing e-mentoring to a current student to assist them to achieve their career plans.
