Welcome!
The Graduate School serves two main purposes. Firstly, it is the
main administrative office on the Hull Campus for our research
students, supplementing the personal supervision and
discipline-specific support provided by academic departments.
Secondly, it provides a number of valuable facilites for all
postgraduate students whether on taught or research programmes. Our
building houses 60 networked workstations, as well as quiet study
areas, photocopying facilites, lockers for storage of personal
items, a seminar room and a common room for social activities. This
makes it the perfect place in which to meet other postgraduate
students, and we are committed to encouraging a multidisciplinary
research culture in the University. Additionally, these facilities
are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Graduate School
is proactive in representing postgraduate students within the
University and in making you feel part of the wider student
community. For example, all postgraduates who enter in September
are invited to an induction event aimed at familiarising new
postgraduates with the University and the facilities available. The
Graduate School also co-ordinates the University’s pioneering
Postgraduate Training Scheme, a programme that provides high
quality research and transferable skills training to our research
students.
