When and where are the Open Days taking place?
Our 2013 Open Days will be taking place on Saturday 29 June, Saturday 14 September and Saturday 12 October at both our Hull and Scarborough campuses. If you would like to attend, please call us on 01482 466500 or email opendays@hull.ac.uk  

 

Are there other opportunities to visit the University?

If you cannot attend one the Open Days, please email srs@hull.ac.uk. Where possible we will try and arrange a campus tour and a meeting with a member of staff from your department.


Do I need to book to attend the Open Day?
We recommend that you book online. A programme for the day will be posted to you about a week before the event.

What time does the Open Day start and end?
The day runs between 9am and 3pm.

How do I get to the Hull Campus?
The postcode for the Hull Campus is: HU6 7RU. For more detailed directions please click here.

How do I get from the train/bus station to the University?
A taxi from the station to the University takes about 10minutes. Bus services 105 (from stand 20) and 103 (stand 13) will take you from the station to the main entrance of the University. Check the EYMS (East Yorkshire Motor Services) website for timetable details.

What do I need to bring with me?
Approximately a week before the Open Day you will receive a copy of the programme of events. In this programme you will find a registration card which you will need to complete and bring with you when you arrive.

Where can I park?
Free parking is available on campus on an Open Day.  Enter the campus by the West Entrance on Cottingham Road where you will see further signs for parking.

Is there disabled parking available?
Designated disabled parking bays are available next to Staff House. Follow the signs from the West Entrance to the designated disabled parking bays. You will need to bring your blue badge to park in the disabled bays.

Do I need a permit to park?
No. Parking is free of charge.

Where do I go when I arrive?
When you arrive, please make your way to the Arrival Point at Staff House. Allow a five minute walk from the car park.

Is there disabled access?
Most areas of the University are accessible to disabled visitors. Please contact us on 01482 466500 or opendays@hull.ac.uk to discuss any special requirements.

Is there somewhere to get refreshments?
There are a number of places to eat on campus and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

 

Can I visit the accommodation?
Yes, tours of the Halls of Residence at Thwaite Hall and The Lawns are available throughout the day. There is a shuttle bus that runs on a regular basis between 9am and 3pm. If you arrive by car you can also visit the Lawns and join a guided tour. The postcode is: HU16 5SN.

Taylor Court and a student house will also be available to visit. For more details please ask at the Arrival Point on the day.

How long do the departmental talks last?
The talks last between 30minutes and 1hour.

Can I attend more than one departmental talk?
If time permits then you are welcome to attend as many departmental talks as you wish.
