Reputation
The University of Hull
– the 'friendly university'
The University puts students at the heart of everything
we do. We're also proud of our academic reputation, which reflects
the high quality of the education we provide.
- The National
Student Survey (NSS) consistently ranks the University in the
top ten mainstream English Universities
- In the 2008 national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), 80% of the
University’s research was judged to be of an international standard
in terms of originality, significance and rigour
- We guarantee first-class teaching and learning – the most
recent Quality Assurance Agency institutional review once again
acknowledged the excellence of the University's provision,
expressing broad confidence in both the quality of our courses and
our management of academic standards
- The University has particular research expertise in social justice,
environmental technologies, maritime history, healthcare, 3D
visualisation and nanotechnology – we're also known for
liquid-crystal technology (for which the Department of Chemistry
received the Queen’s Award for Industry) and evolutionary
biology
Hull is a progressive University, investing heavily in
facilities and resources, like refurbished student residences
and catering areas, improvements to the Students’ Union premises, a
moot court room and the creation of a new road, and parking
infrastructure system on campus [read more about University developments], to name just a
few.
This demonstrates our commitment to helping our students
fulfil their potential.
