Digital Media Studies

Overview

The evolution of digital media devices and production tools is enabling more of us to produce media as well as consume it. Podcasting, blogging and music or video production are becoming familiar lifestyle components – bringing a demand for graduates with the skills and a critical understanding of the ways in which digital media affects our lives.

Our degree equips you with the understanding of this world in addition to developing the creative skill set to be successful in the dynamic field of digital media.

Study

Modules include Principles of Visual Design, multimedia, art direction and animation, and Creative Leadership and Entrepreneurship. An independent study in your final year gives you the option of critical and/or more creative study.

Entry

  • Three A levels: 280 tariff points
  • IB Diploma: 28 points
  • BTEC L3 Extended Diploma: DMM
  • Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 45 credits at merit

Before being offered a place, applicants are invited to visit the University to meet current staff and students, participate in subject-related activities, and learn more about their chosen course. As part of this process, you will be asked to bring a sample of work (for example, a piece of graphic art, a website, or a multimedia presentation) with you.

If your first language is not English, you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency.
