Friday 15th September:
Taylor Court and Student Houses

Saturday 16th September:
The Lawns and Courtyard

Welcome to Hull! You'll be moving in to your home for the next year from today. Our team will be on hand to help make sure that your move in runs as smoothly as possible.

Saturday 16 September

WelcomeFest, Hull University Union’s two week long celebration, begins today!

These two weeks are full of activities for all new students. You can see the full line up of activities on Hull University Union’s website and the WelcomeFest app for Apple iOS or Android.

Welcome week

Monday 18 September - Friday 22 September

This week is dedicated to all new students! You'll attend central University and faculty induction sessions and have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities run by HUU, Campus Sport and Reslife. Your faculty will contact you about their induction sessions.

Monday 18 September

You’ll be sent an invitation with details of a day and time to go and register once you have completed the online pre-registration. This is really important - if you don’t register, you won’t be registered on to your course.

The invitation will include details of what evidence you will need to bring with you to complete your registration, including acceptable forms of evidence of your identity.

Student Loans

Monday 18 September

The Student Loans Company don’t release your first loan payment until you’ve registered – another reason it’s so important!

You should receive your loan a day or two after registration. If your payment is delayed, you can get in touch with the Student Loans Company here. If you need financial help in the meantime, get in touch with our finance service who may be able to help.

Register with a GP

Monday 18 September - Friday 22 September

If you’re moving to Hull, the University requires you to register with a GP.  The sooner you can get registered, the better – you never know when you might need a doctor!

The easiest way to find a GP near you is to visit the NHS Choices website and enter the postcode of your student accommodation.

Meningitis – get vaccinated

Public Health England strongly encourages new students to be vaccinated with Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) vaccine. Make sure you get the vaccination from your GP practice before you start University, or from your new GP in Hull as soon as you arrive.

Teaching begins

Monday 25 September

This is the day that your course officially begins! You’ll probably find that your lectures won’t fully start until next week, but your department will have useful activities and meetings planned throughout the week to help you settle in.

You can find semester dates for the whole year here.
